Valentino Rossi Expects Indonesia to Host MotoGP World Championship

Can Valentino Rossi Perform to Race Again in Indonesia?

Through this post, I would like to present one of the MotoGP superstars Valentino Rossi who has many huge fans in Jakarta and throughout Indonesia,  which is proven by the existence of various fan clubs from the rider who is also renowned as 'the Doctor'.

To mention some of the fan clubs are Rossifumi Indonesia, Indonesian VR46 Community, Serdadu 46, and many more. The fan clubs are not only online world but also in the real world.

The Italian-born Urbino rider on February 18, 1979 is also impressed by the undeniable atmosphere of Jakarta and Indonesia as a potential market for motorcycles including the Yamaha manufacturer where Rossi joins Movistar Yamaha MotoGP.

On one occasion as reported by Crash, Rossi said his hope that Indonesia can also host MotoGP World Championship someday as has ever been discoursed in the recent years.

"This is definitely a place MotoGP only on TV so far. From a business point of view, Indonesia is a market that is pretty distant from the which we are used to, in Europe. ... The sales volume makes Indonesia the leading market for Yamaha, so we have more than one reason to pay a tribute to our friends here by visiting them every time our schedule allows it. "

As we know, Indonesia used to host the event in 1996 and 1997 respectively that was held at Sentul Circuit, but it was finally forced to stop due to the monetary crisis hit Indonesia a year after.

Rossi was firstly racing at the Sentul Circuit in 1996 when the MotoGP race was still called as the 500cc GP as Michael Doohan won the championship followed by Alex Barros and Loris Capirossi.

While Rossi was still appearing in the race 125cc (now is called Moto3 class) with Aprilia team and then Rossi only managed to occupy the 11th position. But in the following year, Rossi became a champion when Japanese rider Tadayuki Okada managed to become champion in the 500cc class. While Max Biaggi was still racing in the 250cc class (now Moto2) and managed to become a champion.
